Outcome

Hegarty et al. (1994), Warner (2004), and Menezes et al. (2006), have previously reviewed the outcome in schizophrenia. We made an extensive search of systematic reviews on predictors of outcome in schizophrenia. We found eight reviews fulfilling our criteria (see references below). These papers will be later presented here in detail.

The SzEpi research team is currently writing reviews and meta-analyses in schizophrenia on following topics:

• familial risk as a predictor for clinical outcome
• familial risk as a predictor for social outcome
• substance use as a predictor for outcome
• premorbid IQ and school succes as a predictor for otucome
• first episode positive and negative symptoms as predictors for outcome
• duration of untreated psychosis as a predictor for outcome
